They lay their eggs in shallow, stagnant water. However, mosquitoes are dangerous because they spread diseases that can be fatal. They cause mild annoyance and irritation for a short period. Often, mosquito bites don’t cause any lasting harm. Three different types of mosquitoes exist in various parts of the world: Aedes, Culex and Anopheles. Only female mosquitoes feed off of blood. They have six legs and long mouthparts - used to feed on blood and nectar. Mosquito bites are small, raised bumps on the skin resulting from a female mosquito feeding on human blood.
